The
schnauzer in the 18th century was a carriage dog and
a watch dog in stables. Since it has some terrier blood,
it was also used as a hunter of rodents. Today, it is
esteemed as a watchdog and bodyguard, but above all,
as very lovable, spirited, loyal, intelligent. Among
the dogs good qualities, two are noteworthy: Its longevity
(for about 15 years) and its lack of a doggy smell.
